Packaging line for frozen chips
Client
Global FriesGlobal Fries opts for a major upgrade of its packaging process.
Challenge
Global Fries is experiencing rapid growth, which calls for a significant increase in the capacity of their packaging process. In addition, the client requires a safe and efficient solution for stacking and transporting pallets — with the flexibility to expand the system in the future.
Approach
To meet these needs, we implemented the following systems:

Carton Transport System: Devion installed two conveyor lines between the packaging and palletizing machines. Both lines include a buffer function, allowing production to continue during maintenance on one of the palletizers. Each line is fully flexible and can be assigned to either palletizer as needed.

New Palletizing Machines: The installation includes two Qimarox layer palletizers with integrated cardboard placers. These machines enable a more efficient stacking process and provide flexibility to adapt to different production needs.

Advanced Pallet Transport System: A state-of-the-art pallet transport system moves pallets from the pallet dispensers through the palletizers to the wrapper and label printer. The system supports both long side leading and short side leading pallet discharge, with 90-degree box rotation and smooth transfer throughout the line.

Safety and Accessibility: The installation is equipped with secure fencing and safety access doors. All safety features — including an emergency stop circuit and SCADA-based monitoring — are fully integrated to ensure optimal protection for all personnel.
Result
Thanks to the installation of these systems, we achieved a remarkable 60% increase in capacity, along with significant improvements in production flexibility and reliability. The client now has a system that not only supports current operations but is also ready to accommodate future growth. The setup is fully expandable, offering opportunities for future upgrades. Comprehensive safety measures ensure a secure working environment, while the accessible design of the installation simplifies maintenance operations.
